17 Weeks

Hello all!! Had a crazy busy weekend with my best friend's bachelorette party (post to come) and Father's Day festivities, I am finally getting to my 17 week bumpdate! I CAN NOT believe I am 4 months pregnant. Holy moly almost half way there! I am really hoping these next few days fly by because my gender reveal party is this Saturday :) BOY or GIRL?!?!

How far along: 17 Weeks

Baby Size: 5.1 inches long and weighs 5.9 ounces

Gender: WE FIND OUT SATURDAY! OUR GUESS IS BOY :)

Total Weight Gain: Stood on the scale today- 143 lbs. so hoping to get a few more pounds on before next doctor appointment.

Maternity Clothes: Regular dresses, maternity shirts & shorts, and new bras for sure!

Movement: More little flutters! I'm ready for a good strong kick ;)

Sleep: Doing well, switching sides throughout the night and still crazy dreams.

Best Moment of the Week: Going to my gender ultrasound and seeing the baby moving all around (so hard not to look when they checked for the sex)

Missing Anything: Some alcohol this weekend at my best friend's bachelorette party.. just water for this girl!

Food Cravings: Mexican food and candy *cry baby tears* hehe

Symptoms: Still some headaches and itching a little on BBs and belly

Labor Signs: Not at all

Wedding Rings: On

Happy or Moody most of the week: Very happy and excited!!!

Looking Forward to: SATURDAY! Will we have a litte miss or little mister?!?!

14 Weeks Bumpdate

Hello 2nd trimester!! I can't believe how quickly this pregnancy is going and how much I am really enjoying it! I feel so lucky that my first trimester was great with no morning sickness or feeling bad. Let's see how well I am liking it all once I enter my third trimester.

My baby at 14 weeks...
* He or she is probably sucking their thumb and wiggling toes.
* Kidneys are making urine plus liver and spleen are doing their jobs too.
* Baby is growing lagugo, a thin peach fuzz like hair all over the body to help keep warm.

How far along: 14 weeks and 6 days

Baby Size: 3.4 inches and 1.5 ounces

Gender: We don't know yet but will find out soon! My guess is BOY & so is Jeff's!

Total Weight Gain: Not sure I haven't weighed myself this week

Maternity Clothes: Little bit of maternity mixed with my regular clothes

Movement: Nothing yet, should be able to in a few more weeks!

Sleep: Doing better and having some crazy vivid dreams

Best Moment of the Week: Having my college girlfriends come visit for the weekend!

Missing Anything: Nope

Food Cravings: Popcorn and lemonade

Symptoms: Some headaches but that's all really

Labor Signs: Not even close

Wedding Rings: On

Happy or Moody most of the week: Happy, happy, happy :)

Looking Forward to: Pool time and getting a tan plus my next doctor appointment in 2 weeks

13 Weeks

My baby at 13 weeks...

*baby is forming vocal cords & teeth.

*he or she already has fingerprints.

*the intestines are moving from the umbilical cord to their more permanent place, in it's tummy. 

How far along: 13 weeks 

Baby Size: 2.9 inches long and weighs about .81 ounces 

Gender: I really think it's a BOY!! 

Total Weight Gain: still only around 2 pounds. 

Maternity Clothes: lots of maxi skirts and ready to rock my maternity shorts soon as my belly starts to pop more.

Movement: can not wait to feel something! 

Sleep: takes me awhile to get to sleep and moving from side to side a lot. 

Best Moment of the Week: just talking about baby with people :) 

Miss Anything: having some sangria and mimosas at my best friend's bridal shower this weekend. 

Food Cravings: French fries are my weakness! 

Symptoms: felt pretty good this week

Labor Signs: Not for awhile 

Wedding Rings on or off: on! 

Happy or Moody Most of the Week: mainly happy unless I'm crying over a commercial or show that has sad or happy moments. 

Looking Forward to: rocking my new swimsuit at the pool with my little bump :)

Mother's Day Recap

Hope all the mamas out there and moms to be had a wonderful Mother's Day! As an expecting mom, I really enjoyed my first Mother's Day with my whole family. Can't wait until next year when I will have my little boy or girl with me to celebrate :)

With my side of the family, we did a brunch at my parent's house. Yummy egg casserole, bacon, cinnamon rolls, and fruit just to name some of the delicious food we had. We opened presents after we ate and I was pleasantly surprised to receive gifts! Two little outfits for baby Neisslie, one was a tie dye shirt from my parents cruise to the Bahamas and the other was a cute yellow onesie with ducks on it. Along with some other gifts, I gave my mom & grandma a stylish frame from Hobby Lobby with our most recent ultrasound picture for them to have at their homes. After gifts, we were off to the next event with Jeff's side of the family. A cookout at his cousin's house! I don't know if it was too much brunch or what but I was dealing with some stomach issues. Felt sick and extra bloated. Tried some Tums once we arrived and those seemed to help a little bit but I felt bad that I wasn't quite my bubbly self and unable to eat any food, which is my favorite kind- cookout food!! We left after about an hour because we still had a drive back to Indiana. Slept pretty much the whole way back home and finally started to feel better. Went to bed early and that was the end of my first Mother's to be Day :)

Got behind of my weekly pregnancy progress, so here it is like a few days late...

*12 Week* Bumpdate

How far along: 12 Weeks

Baby Size: Plum 2.1 inches long

Gender: Still feeling BOY {mother's intuition?}

Total Weight Gain: Only 2 lbs. so far!

Maternity Clothes: Yep! new order from Motherhood Maternity came in the mail :)

Movement: Not yet but so looking forward to it!

Sleep: on and off throughout the night but my long "huggie" pillow helps with comfort.

Best Moment of the Week: Doctor appointment and hearing heartbeat *162 bmp*

Miss Anything: Nope!

Food Cravings: still candy and steak {got my Roadhouse fix in}

Symptoms: headaches started this week but only 2 days in a row & some breakouts

Labor Signs: None!

Wedding Rings on or off: ON :)

Happy or Moody Most of the Week: overall happy this week! might want to check with Jeff to see if he will agree with my answer haha

Looking Forward to: My bestest friend in the whole wide world Mallory's bridal shower this weekend!

Note to baby: Dear baby Neisslie, it is so crazy how much I already love you! I am totally obsessed with anything and everything that has to do with you. I think about you all the time- what are you going to look like, your personality, how your dad and I will raise you. I love seeing my belly begin to grow, knowing you are developing more and more each day. You have made my life so much better and you aren't even here yet :) LOVE ALWAYS, mom & dad. 

Weekly Bumpdate *11 Weeks*

Happy Friday everyone!! Can't believe it is May already! Time is flying by, which I am totally ok with knowing that my little baby boy or girl will be here in November :) Now for my weekly "bumpdate" {update} to track my growing progress and document special memories to look back on after baby Neisslie arrives. When I first started following blogs where "moms to be" posted pregnancy updates, I thought that was such an awesome idea. It lets your family and friends see how everything is going and it will always be there for you to look back at or even once your kids aren't so little anymore & grown up, they can see how we dealt with as well as felt about our pregnancies!

How far along: 11 weeks and 5 days

Baby size: 1.6 inches *Lime*

Gender: just dying to find out { I think it's a boy}

Total weight gain: 2 pounds! Giving into my cravings a little too much :)

Maternity clothes: Some maxi skirts and a couple tops to go with!

Movement: Nada! Can't wait until I can feel baby

Sleep: Doing better especially since subbing a lot lately, so I'm extra tired once I get home.

Best moment this week: Talking with Jeff about what we think baby will be and what he/she will looks like :)

Miss Anything: Not really

Food Cravings: Sweets and Mexican food- chips and salsa!

Symptoms: Still feeling good.. little belly bloat and some breakouts around my chin

Labor Signs: Not at all

Wedding rings on or off: On!

Happy or moody most of the time: A little emotional at times this week.. ha sorry Jeff!

Looking forward to: Next ultrasound to see our little lime again :)

Note to baby: Dear baby Neisslie, this week I want you to know how much I believe in your dad. I know he will take such great care of you. He is already going above and beyond for the both of us. He thinks about you all the time and can't wait to find out if you are going to be a boy or girl. I love how much he loves you! Love, your mom & dad

5 on Friday *Pregnancy Edition*

Happy Friday! Haven't done a 5 on Friday in a while, so I thought I would do a pregnancy edition since I'm just a little TOTALLY obsessed with baby always on the brain. I feel like time is already flying by and I am really enjoying my pregnancy so far. If a song could describe how I have been feeling on a daily bases it would probably be "Happy" by Pharrell :)

1. *Weekly Bumpdate*

How for along? 10 weeks & 5 days

Baby Size: 1.5 inches, my little cherry

Total weight gain: None yet! Doing my Brazil Butt Lift workouts :)

Maternity Clothes? Just some maxi shirts that are soo comfy! I will live in Maxi's this summer

Sleep: Rolling around a lot and waking up in the night to go to the bathroom.

Best moment this week: Having our doctor appointment and seeing our little baby in 3D!! He/She moved around for us and waving arms. I began to tear up a little bit because it was so amazing.

Miss Anything? A glass of wine or ice cold beer sounds nice :)

Food Cravings: Candy and pizza (pretty much the usual haha)

Symptoms: I am feeling pretty good. Just had a couple days of nausea and that's it.
Labor Signs: No

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time? Just really excited! I have been pinning ideas on my boards and researching all things baby :)

Looking forward to: Next appointment in a few weeks!

Note to baby: Dear baby Neisslie, as we begin this thing, I need you to know that you were prayed for, longed for, and wanted more than anything in the world! I already love you so much and get very excited knowing that you are growing inside my belly. Your dad and I can't wait to find out if you will be a boy or girl. With all our love XOXO, mom & dad.

2. *Good Reads*
So I hit up Barnes & Noble right away to get some good baby reading materials. It was hard to decide but I took some advice from a fellow blog friend, Hello Happiness, and bought some of her suggestions. My favorite would have to be The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy by Vicki Iovin! So funny and just tells it like it is. I also really like the pregnancy journal called From Pea to Pumpkin. It has cute little prompts and spots to put in pictures. Others include: Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy & The Baby Names Almanac 2014 by Emily Larson.

3. *Pregnancy Apps*
Yes, I know 6 apps might seem excessive but they all give different facts, information, and FREE!! I check them daily and enjoying learning from all the different ones. Here they are listed from most favorite to least...

4. *Maternity Clothes*
I'm starting to get a little bit of a bump and I'm all about feeling comfortable. I have already invested in some awesome maxi skirts and a couple pairs of shorts from Motherhood Maternity. My thought is why don't women wear maternity clothes all the time?! haha I love that they just slip right on with no buttons/zipper or love handle to hang over the sides! Another awesome site to order super cute maternity clothes for reasonable prices is Pink Blush Maternity! I told myself, no matter how big I might get, I will look stylish head to toe :) Here are a few items I ordered...

We Are EGG*CITED To Announce...

Words can not express my happiness right now!!! I am going to be a mommy- I like the sound of that :) Jeff and I are so so excited to share our news that our little babe is due this November! I just could not keep it a secret any longer. It is like everything is falling into place just like it is suppose to. New house, new jobs, and new life :) I can't wait to blog all about my pregnancy and share all the new tips and tricks I will be learning along the way. Thanks to all our family and friends for the support, love, and continued prayers!

How did it all go down? When, where, how we found out?!
So it was two days before our big move to Indiana and I was still feeling the effects from the George Strait concert we went to that past weekend (little too much wine & beer, sorry baby Neisslie) I really wasn't thinking much of it and just thought it was a long lasting hangover. Before I continue, here is a little back story- Jeff and I had been trying for a year to get pregnant. Like some, I thought it was going to happen right away and we could plan everything out perfectly. Not the case. I eventually began medication to help and had an appointment scheduled with a specialist once we got to Lafayette. Since I was convinced we couldn't conceive on our own, I really tried to not focus on the whole getting pregnant the month of February. I was so busy with Beachbody and doing workouts plus the move, it was a good distraction from feeling down and worried all the time. I strongly believe everything happens for a reason and on God's time. OK back to the day I found out... I decided since I was feeling "off", I would go buy some tests. I hadn't taken any in 2 months because it was just so saddening all those other months I thought it would be positive and it wasn't. So this time I didn't even tell Jeff I was going to test, he was at work in Lafayette and would be driving back that night. Well, I got home and took the test and within no time at all, I saw those two lines appear! I was in shock, it is funny to think back at my reaction as I remember looking down at the test and then into the mirror with my hands on my checks like OMG face and then looking back down at the test again. I could not believe my eyes, I even had to read the directions again like I didn't already know what the two lines meant. I then thought I need to think of a cute way to surprise Jeff and fast because he was due home in a half an hour. I grabbed the prego jar and wrote I'M on card stock and taped that along with the test to the jar. As you can see in the video, Jeff was shocked as well! So glad I thought to capture that moment on film with my iPhone. That night we couldn't even sleep with all the excitement. We just talked and I was pinning on my secret boards all things baby :)

How did we tell our families?
Jeff and I were staying the night at my parents the next night after we found out because the movers had come and packed up all our stuff. Since Jeff had to go to work that day, he wouldn't get home until 5:30pm, so I had him pick up the cookie cake with the surprise message inside. When my parents saw Jeff carrying in this box, they were wondering why? I told them we wanted thank them for helping us with the move that coming weekend and wanted to bring over a yummy dessert. Once my mom opened and read the message, her face lite up with joy and some tears. Both my mom and dad were so excited for us and can't wait to be grandparents.

 Jeff's mom was having neck surgery the day after we found out the news, so we wanted to wait until she was in recovery at the hospital to tell his parents. We decided what better "get well" gift then flowers with a card saying, "Get well soon, grandma" Love, Baby Neisslie. More excited faces and some tears! It was so great to see their reactions and they are also pumped to be grandparents.

Will we find out the gender? How will we share the news?
I am a planner and must know as soon as we can if it will be a boy or girl! I can't wait to decorate the nursery and buy all kinds of baby clothes and items :) We will be able to find out mid-June. And for those of you who know, I love any excuse to throw a party, so of course I am going to have a gender reveal party with family and friends!! I have my Pinterest board started with all kinds of ideas for the event.

Bought anything for the baby yet?
Hello! I'm obsessed, so of course I have gone out and bought a few things :) This baby is loved so much already that family and friends have bought baby Neisslie some cute items! Special thank you to: grandma & grandpa Swartz, Lori Leggett, LaDonna Jenkins, and Lindsay Coleman.
